There is no cure... or is there?

General mechanic

The mod is taking Demonius'es amazing mod Zombie Virus Vaccine as a base, but it's updated to the current version and includes many tweaks to values, recipes, and it removes some overly complicated mechanics, that would otherwise make it almost impossible to progress in research in Multiplayer, or Solo. In our opinion it's easier to restart a character than to make a cure in original mod, so we modified it.

This modification also allows you to collect a blood sample and pass it to a doctor to examine for infection stage.

Extra chemical items introduced by the mod were replaced by vanilla components, so it can be included even in a running world.

We've also integrated it with Dynamic Traits system, so as your First Aid skill goes up, you learn more and more recipes, so you can figure it out without recipe magazines. The cure recipe is learnt at level 9.

All these changes do not make the mod easy, since each step is quite a complicated process.

Crafting system

Most of recipes require you to be next to a specific object.

For example, to craft all equipment you must be next to Lab Workbench.

In case of Chromatograph, it must be set next to a working desktop computer.

The radius to trigger a recipe is 1 tile from a workbench.

Recipe books

There are three books to find in the world unless you want to raise your First Aid to maximum:

1) "Laboratory Equipment" - teaches you how to assemble Lab Workbench, Microscope, Centrifuge, Muffle Furnace, Chemistry Set, Chromatograph and Spectrometer.

2) "Virology Course" - teaches you how to analyse blood sample for infection, as well as work on zombie infected blood in order to develop stages of vaccines and eventually a cure.

3) "Chemistry course" - teaches you how to make various reagents, as well as chlorine tablets.

How to test for zombie infection

Any player can right click a syringe or a reusable syringe in inventory and take their own blood sample.

They can pass it to a doctor with enough First Aid skill, and the doctor will use the syringe with blood and a sheet of paper (you can tear books, magazines etc for paper now) next to spectrometer.

The result will show if it's negative, and if it's positive it will show the % of infection.

How to collect infected blood samples

You can collect infected blood from recently deceased zombies. Don't wait too long, or the blood will become unusable.

In order to do so you need a scalpel, tweezers, and any face mask (surgical, dust, gas etc) besides welding mask.

The blood has to be put in vial fast, otherwise it will expire.

The vial will take much longer to expire, and if you divide it into plasma/leukocytes, it won't spoil.

How to get syringes, vials, flasks

You can find syringes in the world.

You can break empty bottles, cologne, car windows via recipe to get Shatterd glass, and then weld it into syringes and flasks and vials either by blowtorch (syringes), or at Muffle furnace (everything).

You can sterilize dirty reusable syringes, flasks and vials, either with disinfectant bottles, or using a boiling pot with water.

The recipes are learnt either by lab equipment journal, or by leveling up your First Aid skill to 4+

Chemistry

All chemistry is done at the Chemistry set.

Sodium Hypochlorite: made from 1 bleach, 1 water flask, 1 empty flask

Ammonium Sulfate: made from 1 NPK fetrilizer, 1 water flask, 1 empty flask

Albumin: made from 2 flasks with blood plasma, 1 paper sheet

Chlorine tablets: made from 2 disifectant, 1 empty jar

SH an AS are just components for vaccine creation.

Albumin gives health (the more you hurt, the more it gives), and prolongs vaccine duration when fighting virus.

Chlorine tablets can be used to purify water

Vaccine development

You need to put infected blood in vials, and then split it at microscope.

The blood is split like this:

- 3 tubes with infected blood + 2 flasks = 1 flask with blood cells

- 1 flask with blood cells + ammonium sulfate = 1 flask leukocytes + 1 flask with plasma

Antibodies are extracted at Chromatograph + Computer setup

- 1 flask with leukocytes + ammonium sulfate = 1 flask with antibodies

There are 3 types of vaccine and 1 cure.

The vaccine is produced at Chemistry set

Plain vaccine

- syringe + flask /w water + 1 flask /w plasma + 1 flask /w leukocytes + sodium hypochlorite

Effect:

- Delays the zombification (even more if taking albumine after), 5% chance to cure.

- If not infected, 40% chance to infect a healthy person.

Quality vaccine

- syringe + flask /w water + 2 flasks /w plasma + 4 flasks /w leukocytes + sodium hypochlorite

Effect:

- Better delays the zombification (even more if taking albumine after), 10% chance to cure.

- If not infected, 10% chance to infect a healthy person.

Advanced vaccine

- syringe + flask /w water + 3 flasks /w plasma + 5 flasks /w leukocytes + 1 flasks /w antibodies + sodium hypochlorite

Effect:

- Delays the zombification (even more if taking albumine after), 15% chance to cure.

- If not infected, 1% chance to infect a healthy person.

Cure

- syringe + flask /w water + 4 flasks /w plasma + 6 flasks /w antibodies + sodium hypochlorite

Effect:

- Immediately cures the infection

- Has no duration, so cannot be administered in advance unlike vaccines.
